Who we are
David De la Haye
David has 30 years experience in industry, as an engineer, manager, trainer and consultant. He successfully ran his own company for over 10 years, before leaving the UK with Lyn to start TrainingUganda.
He has been an active member of the Baptist Church since the age of 13, and been involved in church leadership and mission projects over many years.
David’s training skills and project management experience are ideal for the development of the training centre and associated businesses.
Lyn De la Haye
Lyn has a wide range of skills, having worked in education, administration and retail. Her twin passions are working with children, and crafts. She is a prize-winning contributor to craft magazines and also has experience in the catering trade.
She has also been an active member of the Baptist Church for most of her life, and has worked extensively with children.
Lyn’s skills are well suited to developing the dressmaking and catering aspects of the training centre, and also building up the local hotel as a placement for trainee work experience.
She is currently completing her certification as a Primary Teacher of the Montessori method.
Together
David and Lyn have 3 daughters and 3 grandchildren in the UK.
They continue to be helped in many ways by their home church of Sittingbourne Baptist Church, as well as a number of other churches around the country.
They are committed to moving the TrainingUganda project forward until it becomes self sustaining, and is fully in the hands of skilled and motivated Ugandans, probably a 10 year plan,
